Raquel (w jacket sml)

I joined the firm in 2004 while I completed my Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Monash University. Recently, I completed my study to achieve the Certified Financial Planner® designation (CFP®), which is the highest designation in financial planning. I was honoured to be awarded the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award from the Financial Planning Association of Australia for achieving the highest marks in the CFP® Certification Program in Semester 1 2019.  I also hold a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning). I am a Certified Financial Planner® member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and I am an Authorised Representative of SGN Financial Pty Ltd (Authorised Representative number 328702).

I’m passionate about helping our clients feel confident and in control of their financial position and improve their financial literacy. I love working with clients to help them achieve their goals. You’re never too young, or too old, to start planning for your future and it’s a privilege when clients invite us to help them along their journey.

Gavin and I have two young sons and we are a basketball mad family. I have been an active member of my boys’ school Parents and Friends Association for many years. Between family, work and school commitments – I’m kept very active. I love travel, reading and am a passionate supporter of the Sydney Swans.

I am an Authorised Representative of SGN Financial Pty Ltd (Authorised Representative number 1001070).

During my down time from Wealth Mentoring Group, I love the challenge of active outdoor, family and school activities, shared with my husband Matt and twin daughters.

After completing Law and Economics Degrees at Monash University, I joined the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After spending 10 years at Andersen’s working in their Melbourne and London offices, I established my own tax advice business where I worked with a broad range of clients.  In 2000 I sold my tax practice to specialise in advising on wealth management and financial planning.

My financial and legal experience has allowed me the opportunity to share my expertise by serving as a Director at Victoria Golf Club for 7 years and as Treasurer at Ronald McDonald House – Monash for 13 years.

Margie and I have two adult children who claim to be independent. I’m also the author of a “best-selling book” (my words), An Aussie Takes a Punt, which traces the career of my nephew who played for the Dallas Cowboys.
