After completing Law and Economics Degrees at Monash University, I joined the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen where I qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After spending 10 years at Andersen’s working in their Melbourne and London offices, I established my own tax advice business where I worked with a broad range of clients. In 2000 I sold my tax practice to specialise in advising on wealth management and financial planning.
My financial and legal experience has allowed me the opportunity to share my expertise by serving as a Director at Victoria Golf Club for 7 years and as Treasurer at Ronald McDonald House – Monash for 13 years.
Margie and I have two adult children who claim to be independent. I’m also the author of a “best-selling book” (my words), An Aussie Takes a Punt, which traces the career of my nephew who played for the Dallas Cowboys.
Starting my journey in finance and accounting, I began in Audit at Deloittes, after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. From there, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant and joined the Tax Division at Arthur Andersen. After eleven years in larger firms I progressed to working in smaller practices (including my own practice), where I specialised in advising on wealth management and financial planning.
Over 30 years of working in both larger and smaller practices has allowed me the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients. Presently, the most satisfying aspect of my work is assisting clients with their personal development of financial understanding.
Outside work, I enjoy socialising with friends, being involved with community activities, eating good food and travelling with my wife, Joanne. We have 2 adult daughters and we are enjoying watching their life journeys. I’m an addicted golfer who enjoys the camaraderie of the game and the many challenges it presents!!!

I joined the firm in 2004 while I completed my Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Monash University. Recently, I completed my study to achieve the Certified Financial Planner® designation (CFP®), which is the highest designation in financial planning. I was honoured to be awarded the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award from the Financial Planning Association of Australia for achieving the highest marks in the CFP® Certification Program in Semester 1 2019. I also hold a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning). I am a Certified Financial Planner® member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and I am an Authorised Representative of SGN Financial Pty Ltd.
I’m passionate about helping our clients feel confident and in control of their financial position and improve their financial literacy. I love working with clients to help them achieve their goals. You’re never too young, or too old, to start planning for your future and it’s a privilege when clients invite us to help them along their journey.
Gavin and I have two young sons and we are a basketball mad family. It’s been my honour to serve as President of my boys’ school Parents and Friends Association this year (and a great deal of fun too!). Between family, work and school commitments – I’m kept very active. I love travel, reading and am a passionate supporter of the Sydney Swans.
